Children and Youth Programs are geared towards children, youth, and families.  These programs promote family wellness and encompasses physical and emotional development. Children, youth, and families participate in a welcoming and supportive environment that allows them to actively explore and interact with others in the community.

The Early-ON Program

The Early-ON program provides parents and caregivers of young children (0-6 yrs old) with a dedicated drop-in area where they can interact with their children in a safe, caring, and nurturing environment. Both children and parents/caregivers are encouraged to participate in a variety of skill building and social activities that help the growth of the child.

 

The program’s focus is on preschool readiness and Healthy Start. The program also encourages and supports new immigrants to connect with other parents/caregivers in their community through language based discussion groups and activities.

Monday to Friday 8:30am-11:30pm and 12:30 pm-3:30pm

School Age Program

The School-Aged Program provides a safe, reliable, high quality child care program offered in a warm stimulating environment. The focus is to promote the emotional, physical, social, and intellectual well being of children ages 6 to 12.

 

The program also supports students of George Syme Community School through the daily meal program  providing  breakfast, snack, and hot lunch.

The Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Youth Program

The Youth program provides middle & high school students and older youth in the Jane and Woolner neighbourhood with a safe and welcoming environment where they can participate in a wide variety of targeted activities. Activities are designed and developed in collaboration with the youth and reflect their current needs and interest.

The programs are offered at George Syme Community School and easily accessible for youth to attend. Programs run from Monday to Friday during the fall, winter, and spring.  Summer hours vary and are dependent on current partnerships.

Outreach Wednesday: 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
